New Year’s Resolutions for the Family: New Year, New Dose of Healthy Habits

You know that feeling when you start thinking about all of the things that need to change in order for your family to live healthier? Yeah, me too. That is why I’ve compiled a list of Family New Year’s resolutions geared towards my fellow mommas out there who are looking for ways to help their families live happier lives in 2022.

1. Make a family New Year’s Resolution list.

We’re going to be talking about how you can make your family’s New Year’s resolutions for the new year a little easier. The best way to do that is by setting up some ground rules and making sure everyone agrees on them before you go into detail. Let’s get started!

Firstly, what you need to do is sit down and write down every single thing that you want to accomplish in the New Year. Divide the list into different categories: Health, finances, home, family, vacations, and more. Work on the things that you have more control over first. To help get you started, we’ve created a Family New Year’s Resolutions list that you can download for free here.

    2. Enjoy more quality family time.

Now, we’re not talking about the days when everyone spends the whole day in a room together, ignoring each other and missing out on what each other are doing. We’re talking about the days where everyone sits down, puts down their devices, and actually looks at one another.

Maybe take family walks together and engage with one another, or spend time together making some crafts as a family. Need ideas? This one may seem like an easy one to set. I mean, I’m no idiot. I realize that most kids don’t eat healthy when left to their own devices, but I don’t think most kids go to bed at night with a perfectly balanced dinner.

A healthy diet is one of the best ways to ward off the onset of health concerns such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes.

I think kids want a combination of healthy choices, and as long as it’s a bit of a healthy snack at least, they’ll be happy. When my kids are happy, I am happy.

Do you want to save time and money, eat healthier meals, reduce your stress, and feel more organized? Weekly meal planning is the key!

Trying to prepare dinner for my family every night is rough. There’s always a constant argument about who’s cooking and who’s doing the dishes and who’s doing the laundry. Do you know what’s even more fun? Doing it all by yourself. It’s especially hard when you can’t go online to get ideas because your toddler is hungry and yelling for a snack and the husband is sleeping because he’s still nursing.

I’m not sure about you, but it’s hard for me to follow my own advice when it comes to meal planning. Luckily, this weekly meal planner has been tested by busy moms everywhere who are obsessed with how much easier their lives became after using this tool. The Busy Mom’s Weekly Meal Planner includes printable templates that make planning each week’s menu even easier than ever before!

    7. Practice self-care.

Next year, I’m going to try and work in some yoga, too. It’s easy and relaxing and it gets me outside. Plus, it’s a great way to start the day if my son wants to join me.
